In attendance: Joe C., David D., Tyus, Brian, Colin, Bryant, Bob and Tavon. Prospective students Tony and Martin observed.
Class began with transition drills. Joe, David and Brian worked on polishing Transition Drill 5. Tyus, Colin, Bryant and Tavon worked on Transition Drill 1.
The second half of class was spent introducing the 14 count Receiver Grips.
Guro Joe has been training with Maharlika Martial Arts since 2003. He is currently a level 2 associate instructor in Sayoc and a member of the Maryland Atienza Kali training group. Joe is a 4th-degree karate black belt, and a skilled sculptor and bladesmith. He is also an Aquarius who enjoys piña coladas and walks in the rain.

While the newer students reviewed transition drills, the apprentice/associate instructors worked on converting 3 of 9 tapping and transition drills into either blade on blade or phase II versions of the drills.
At the end of class, we worked on countering a knife to the throat.
