Class Notes – May 20, 2008
In attendance: Bob, Lem, Joe, Victor, Cliff, and Derek. We reviewed footage from Saturday, then worked on our AK material.
Two local baseball bat murders
Last week, a 16-year-old straight-A McDonogh student bludgeoned his mother to death in an argument over his school performance.A 15-year-old Glen Burnie high school student has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder after striking a man from behind with a baseball bat on April 29. The 49-year-old man slipped into a coma the next day and died last Tuesday.

Fatal stabbing in Baltimore
A 27-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and left outside of the University of Maryland Medical Center where he later died.

In attendance: Bob, Lem, David, Derek, Frank and Justin. We continued our AK crash course, covering hourglass footwork and both Evolution 1 and Evolution 2.
Multiple recent local stabbings
On March 23, an actor from The Wire was stabbed in the buttocks and chest during a party in Overlea.On April 11, in Catonsville, a McDonald’s worker was stabbed several times in the upper body by a co-worker. (This happens to be a McDonald’s I often get breakfast at on my way to work!)And on May 10, a man was fatally stabbed in a botched robbery attempt at a Catonsville gas station. The man was getting ready to take his pregnant wife to the hospital when he was murdered. (I’ve filled up at that gas station too …)
