Full house tonight. We reviewed TD 1 and continued Guro Lem's drill from last week but

We continued installing 3 of 9 Left Defeats Right and added some structured intensity. We focused on maintaining proper range and taking the feeders ground with each counter instead of retreating or trying to make too much space. We also tried having the receiver (or feeder 2) starting the drill from the draw and drawing in reverse grip.
New Sayoc instructor rankings have been released. Congratulations to all associate instructors and apprentice instructors who were promoted!

Attendance: Ryan, Asim, Joe M., Lem and Frank.
Guro Joe taught AK Bolo Evolution 1, two man drill. Frank and Ryan utilized the smak-stix in order to see the effectiveness of their two counts and intercepts.Later, Asim and Lem also reviewed Transitional drills 1 – 7.

Guro Lem:
Robert and Ann performed 3 of 9 template and w/tapping. Then, tried left hand mirrors right hand template. Near the end of class, we started left hand template (left defeats right).
We welcomed Guro Joe M. back to Maryland and also had a surprise visit from another senior instructor.
Guro Joe M. taught us panuntukan applications against the jab and jab-cross. We ended the class in free flow.

In addition, David D. attended his first Sama Sama, testing for Apprentice Instructor. David barely survived the blade toss/quick draw examination but stepped it up a notch during the one-on-one sparring, surprising everyone with his “aggression”. :)
