23-year-old medical researcher Stephen Pitcairn was walking home from the train station last week around 11:00 pm when he was stopped by an man and woman who demanded money. After he gave up his wallet, Pitcairn was stabbed in the chest. A nearby resident heard a scream and saw Pitcairn lying on his stomach. The resident called 911 and stayed with Pitcairn until he expired. At the time of the robbery, Pitcairn had been talking on the phone with his mother who reportedly overheard the entire event.Police arrested and charged Lavelva Merritt, 24, and John Alexander Wagner, 34, both of whom have long criminal records. According to detectives, Merritt reported that she and Wagner were out “hunting to rob someone.”

Man stabbed and robbed by three teens
A 30-year-old man was stabbed in the upper torso and robbed around 11 p.m. in Glen Burnie. The victim reported that he was confronted by three teens who stabbed him, stole his wallet and cell phone, then fled the scene on foot. The victim was taken to Shock Trauma for treatment.
Man stabbed by wife
Mark Anthony Seymour was stabbed in the chest by his 47-year-old wife, Sumayyah Seymour, during an argument. After stabbing her husband, Ms. Seymour called 911 and told dispatchers that she was sorry.Mr. Seymour was flown to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland. His wife has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
Man stabs brother multiple times
A 23-year-old Anne Arundel man grabbed a knife during an argument and stabbed his 29-year old brother multiple times. The stabbing victim was treated at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma center for his non-life-threatening wounds.
Union Mills stabbing
Phillip Ray Muller was stabbed in the chest on Sunday during an argument. Muller was able to identify his attacker as 28-year-old Corey Lewis Weems who is being held without bail. Muller remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Elkton man fatally stabs wife
24-year-old Jason Costello was arrested after police were called to his home by a neighbor who reported hearing a woman screaming. Responding officers saw blood on a window and entered the house, finding 24-year-old Ashley Costello on the floor. Jason Costello was found holding a knife, bleeding from the wrists.
“Samurai Porn Murderer” was former U Maryland student
Former U Maryland econ major turned porn actor, Stephen Clancy Hill, attacked three co-workers with a katana, killing one and wounding the other two. Hill ran from the studio with the sword and held off L.A. SWAT for hours before either leaping or falling off of a cliff to his death (possibly after being tasered).
While a senior at University of Maryland, Hill was convicted of threatening a teaching assistant with a handgun (demanding an “A”) and served two years in prison.
