Beginning of class, we split up into two groups. Joe took one group that knew TD 1 and TD 2 and they practiced those drills. The other group practiced 3 of 9 tapping.Brian and John also worked on 5 count palusot drills. Patrick and Jonathan reviewed TD 1 and 10 count palusot drill (circular). Bethany and David worked on 3 of 9 template and tapping. After that we did some fun stuff again. We ran four laps and ten push-ups, followed by 3of 9 tapping. This was repeated three times, however the third time, I turned off the lights. The last part of class, Joe reviewed tip down deflections to angle 1 and 2. We also drilled this using a pad and soft-stix (feeder 1) so feeder 2 can hit back as soon as he deflected. We ended class after this.

Class Notes – July 6, 2006

sama sama 2006In attendance: Lem T. (instructing), Joe C., David D., Keith H., Adam L., Tom M., and Pat R.While I was away, Lem ran the class. These are his notes …I tried introducing the salutation with everyone. We tried doing it a few times. Then we reviewed over the 3 of 10 smoking knife template and 2 of 12 smoking knife template. We went over 3 of 9 with tapping and played a little game with it. (I had them do 3 of 9 with tapping and reset and switch feeders after the first hit. Second game we did push-up crawls and did 5 spins around the stick and do crab crawls back, and then have them perform 3 of 9 with tapping.) Basically, 3 of 9 tapping with variations. Then we ended the class with Joe reviewing the stick template.Sounds like a great class! Training modifiers like this are an important part of our training.

Class Notes – March 30, 2006

In attendance: Lem T. (instructing), Warren D. and Joe C. (assisting), Jay M., Keith H., Tom M., David D., Adam B., and Adam L.Lem reported that Warren and Joe worked with the new students on installing 3/9 right hand and 3/9 tapping for most of the class.Jay and Lem reviewed TD1, 3/9 left, 3/9 left defeats right, and the 12 count receiver grips with Tom and Keith. This class also marked the return of the “shock knife” that Keith created. No one caught on fire, so it sounds like the trial was a success.
